LUXEM Research Article featured in the Cover Page of the Journal of American Chemical Society

Our article “Ultrafast Formation of Jahn–Teller Polarons Revealed by State-Selective Excitation in Correlated Spinel Co3O4” is published in the Journal of American Chemical Society (JACS) and featured on the journal cover. In this work, we unravel the ultrafast formation of Jahn–Teller polarons in spinel Co3O4 with microscopic detail. Observing the individual steps of this process enables the engineering of local properties in transition metal oxides using tailored light pulses that activate site-specific Jahn–Teller distortions.
