Delighted with the outcome of the collaborative beamtime 20244077 between LUXEM and DiProI Teams at the FERMI Free Electron Laser. The beamtime, which took place on 21-25 September in Trieste (IT), focused on XUV ptychographic measurements with orbital angular momentum beams for imaging dynamics in metallic nanostructures.

The 2025 Optica Imaging Congress [Seattle, USA, 18-21 August 2025] addresses all aspects of 2D and 3D image acquisition, processing and display, imaging through scattering media and turbulence and the application of machine learning to image processing. Antonio Mazzarone presented his current PhD thesis work with a talk entitled: “Focusing Delivery Schemes: a Comparative Analysis for Extreme UltraViolet Ultrafast Tabletop Ptychography”. The "Advancements in High-Resolution Imaging Using Next-Generation Light Sources" symposium aims to foster an in-depth discussion among internationally recognized experts in the field, exploring the potential of the FEL facility to drive new research directions in imaging of structure and transient states of condensed matter, soft matter, and low-density matter. Prof. Mancini was invited speaker, with a talk entitled “Structured Beams and Focusing Delivery Schemes: a Comparative Analysis for Extreme UltraViolet Ultrafast Tabletop Ptychography”. The annual meeting of COST Action ‘NEXT’, of which Prof. Mancini is Vice-chair, organizer, and speaker, took place at the Institute of Physics of Zagreb (HR), on July 14-18, 2025. During the workshop, whose aim was to promote the discussion of novel approaches ultrafast non-linear EUV/X-rays methods, Claudia Schrama presented  a talk entitled “Ultrafast ptychographic imaging of order-disorder correlations in hybrid nanoparticle topologies”. Prof. Mancini and Antonio Mazzarone acknowledge Flavio Capotondi and the DiProI team for collaborative experiments at the in-house beamtime on July 5-7, 2025. On July 7-8 2025, Prof. Mancini attended the FISMAT 2025 – CNISM symposium: "From ultrafast magnetism to quantum materials: new insights with new instruments", of which she was organizer and chair. This ERC in Italy event took place in Naples on May 22-23 at the University of Naples Federico II. Prof. Mancini joined to discuss ERC projects as panelist, learn from peers and share mentorship tips & tricks with young applicants. Find out more
